Heading down under!

We are going for a fam-bam holiday down under come end April! Heading to Perth and it’s been A.G.E.S since I’ve been there. I’ve heard that it’s really kid-friendly so am hoping that Bubba will have a good time too.

Need to do research on places to head to, so if you have any recommendations in Perth, please send them along my way! Thanks in advance! 🙂

There are loads of places to go in Perth! Having lived there for 3 years, you can try:

Swan Valley area which has –
    Caversham Wildlife Park
Margaret River Chocolate Factory (snack on samples of chocolate! MmM)
Wineries like Houghtons, Sitella (try their Alexandria dessert wine..soooo divine)

    Cottesloe Beach
    Rottnest Island (beautiful for cycling)
    Fremantle
    Dunsborough/Bunbury

Further south, you have Albany/Denmark (fab cheese factory there with a double cream brie..mmMm).

If you haven’t gotten accomodation, check out Antonas Verandah Apartments. It is a serviced apartment near the city with free shuttle buses into the city. And very near to Corica, famous for their apple strudel!

Hi! Perth is awesome for a holiday with kids and that statement comes from having stayed there for almost 3 years with a baby around Sophie’s age. Caversham for the animals. Kings Park in the early evening for the little one to crawl/run around the gently sloped grass area while the adults chill and relax. Your man can conquer the Jacob’s ladder (side of Kings Park and at least 20 fitness enthusiasts training there at any one time) while u guys are chilling. Hyde Park has a nice little waterpark for kids to go get wet but its too cold for that now. However, i think its one of the prettiest park in perth (pretty near the city too). Check out buggybuddys.com.au (very useful guide for families in perth. tells u what is happening around that period).

For food, go to nobu (jap) at the Crown. Exquisite japanese food. Cantina 663 (mount lawley) for gnnochi and duck parfait and duck fig salad. Ciao Italia for Italian. Check urbanspoon.com for opening hours and ratings of restaurants. Anything above 80% is generally quite yummy.

I use Gaia for baby’s shower gel and shampoo. Its 3 times the price in singapore. U could get that as well as vitamins for half or a third of the price in this pharmacy chain called Chemist Warehouse.

i still have loads more but I shan’t bombard you. If you want more information, you could always email me. Will be happy to help. I know how nerve wrecking it can be to travel with a child and it never hurts to have a local “show” you around. Enjoy!
