As I am writing this post, Baby Girl is moving vigorously in ma’ belly. Must be the effects of the ice-cream that I just ate for someone sure is happy. So is Mummy here! The weather over the weekend had been unforgiving. It has been really hot and if we are out, I end up having to take a cold shower when I hit home or drinking loads of water!
In came The Inspired Chef, thanks to a post by S from SomethingboutRene and an instagram pic by Miss Ene. I decided to check out the site and was amazed by how easy it is to give into my sweet cravings!! They make great gifts too if you don’t have the time to run out and get gifts. Just a couple of clicks and the order is completed! Love how easy it is to get things down and make someone happy with ice cream in this heat!
Some background on The Inspired Chef – it’s a first-of-its kind experience of ice cream flavours lovingly handcrafted with local and international quality ingredients by locally renowned chefs. These aren’t your usual flavours of ice cream that you’d expect to get. Think along the lines of ice cream being ‘pimped’ up with special inputs by Singapore’s finest chefs.
Over the weekend, we brought out the 2 pints of ice-cream that I ordered. I love anything with salted popcorn in it so it was a no-brainer for me to pick out the Caramel Popcorn Avalanche – a creation by Chef Janice Wong of 2am Dessert Bar fame. The ice cream is a rich sea salt flavour bathed in sweet caramelized popcorn and crunchy pecan nut bits topped with sea salt caramel swirls. It taste just as good as it sounds! If you think that the caramel popcorn bits only appear on the top of the ice cream, that’s where you’re wrong. The bits pop out throughout the entire pint! 🙂
The Raspberry Cheesecake Rumble was the flavour that the Man picked. Created by Chef Pang of Antoinette fame, it’s a decadent cream cheese ice cream infused with coulis made from fresh raspberries and crunchy butter crumbles. I felt the flavour for this was not as great at the Caramel Popcorn Avalanche. The Raspberry Cheesecake Rumble was a tad bit too milky in terms of taste for my liking. Having said that, this wasn’t all too sweet and the family did enjoy it as well.
So the overall winner at home? Clearly the Caramel Popcorn Avalanche, of course! It had the perfect balance of what my ideal ice cream should be! Not too sweet nor salty.
If you are craving for some ice cream in this sweltering heat but too lazy to hit the shops, then definitely surf on down to The Inspired Chef and place your order of ice cream now!! What’s there to do after placing the order? Sit back, relax, wait for the delivery and then eat the ice cream straight from the pint!!! Yum!!! 🙂
