Second trimester.. whee, finally enjoying the benefits of it! I guess we are back into regular programming where taste-buds are slightly back to normal. By that, I mean finding the excuse to check out new places that we have not been. Boy, is there a long list of places that we have yet to visit.
I was craving for waffles for the longest time (say about 2 weeks now), so the Man decided to ‘fulfill’ my craving by bringing me to a place that sells waffles. Did a quick search online and found a couple of waffle places near where we were at in town to check out. Narrowed the search down to Group Therapy Cafe.
Group Therapy Cafe is located on the second floor of a restored shophouse along Duxton Road. As we pushed the door opened, we were greeted by a buzz of activity.
Was stuffed from brunch still but needed to put my waffle craving to an end, so ordered a simple Maple Waffle for myself while the Man ordered the Bacon and Egg Pie which was a special for the day.
I’m also trying my best to keep my caffeine quota of one cuppa a day so am pleased that they have this mint hot chocolate on their drinks list, though I must add that the one by Penny University taste much better. The Man enjoyed his Picolo Latte so if you are a coffee lover, stick to the beans.
Verdict on the Bacon and Egg Pie? The Man thought the filling was rather dry. I didn’t try any of his pie but the presentation of the entire dish did look very appetising. Couldn’t resist popping those chips either. Hehe.
On to the highlight for my day – the Waffles? Were they as good as some of the rave reviews? Well, it really is quite good. Waffle is fluffy and slightly crunchy to the bite. The powdered sugar added a nice touch along with a drizzle of the maple syrup. All in all, craving satisfied! Now, what does Bun want to have next?
