Snapshots from the holiday

Am back from our loong break.. a total of 15 days to be exact, longer for the Man but felt sufficiently looong enough for me.  Have a day to rest before heading back to work tomorrow.  Didn’t really take too many pictures for the trip because most of the time spent was either vege-ing out or just doing a couple of leisurely walks around the ‘hood.  Surprisingly, nothing too strenuous nor adventurous.  The weather was also pretty kind to us.  New York was cold but it got even colder the day we left.  Same happened with Chicago, the day we left Chicago, it snowed.  And on the final day when we left Santa Monica, Los Angeles, the weather dipped a little as well.

We did manage to check out quite a number of lovely eateries so give me some time to sort those pictures out and I will be sharing those reviews.  In the meantime, here are some random pics of the holiday:

L1010067The best way to see the whole of New York according to the Man is from the top, so we went on a helicopter ride to admire the stunning views of the city from above.  Skies were a little grey but there was a ray of sunshine that peeked in to allow us to enjoy the views.

In Chicago, the Saturday that we were there was so sunny that we just took a walk at the Millennium Park, visited the Art Institute of Chicago and ended the day with the Architecture River Cruise.

And lastly, ending the trip in Los Angeles where we stayed at West Hollywood for 2 nights, decided we are too old for the party scene and shifted down to sunny Santa Monica for the rest of the trip.  Wise decision that the Man made for we so enjoyed the vibe that Santa Monica had to offer instead.  Would have loved to visit the Universal Studios or Disneyland but the Man gave me an evil eye when I suggested those options so we just hung around in the city.  Most over-rated part of Hollywood?  The Hollywood sign and the walk of Fame!  When I badgered the Man to bring me there to witness it for myself, I was like ‘HUH?  This is it?’.  He just gave me a smirk with a ‘I told you so’ look.  Tsk.
