World Animal Day

Did you know that 4 October is World Animal Day?  I kinda just found out.  Yikes!

Well, it started in Florence, Italy in 1931 at a convention of ecologists.  On this day, animal life in all its forms is celebrated, and special events are planned in locations all over the globe. Reason why 4 October was originally chosen for World Animal Day is because it is the feast day of Francis of Assisi, a nature lover and patron saint of animals and the environment. Numerous churches throughout the world observe the Sunday closest to 4 October with a Blessing of the Animals.

Call us crazy but we are bringing Sparky to church on Sunday for a special blessing!

So give your pet a big hug and throw in a special treat just for them today!  I know we will be giving ours big hugs and kisses!

IMG_0827Sneak!  A photo from our recent pet photo-session.  We love this shot loads!!!!  Still waiting for the studio to touch-up and release the image to us.  Fingers crossed it would look good after digital imaging! 🙂
