recharge

Pretty pleased that we managed to get a weekend break before 2012 ended to recharge those batteries.  Here are some snapshots from the brief vacay:

IMG_5211As this was a rather last minute trip, most of the shortlisted hotels that we had wanted to stay were all full.  Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, we decided to book our stay with The Pavilions.  The room we had was simply gorgeous and provided for a restful stay.  I only wished that the weather was better so that I could get a darker tan.  Hee hee

IMG_5210Spotted quirky and lovely quotes  that they would leave on our bed or inserted in the menus around the resort.

IMG_5212 Didn’t get much of the sun but day 1 was pretty good!  Managed to laze by the pool and caught up with some reading.IMG_5214The luscious greenery scattered around the resort definitely helped relaxed the mind.  And who doesn’t love sunsets?  Perfect backdrop for those sundowner drinks. IMG_5215 And what’s a holiday without feasting? Big fan of Thai food and I think I underestimated the spice used in some of the dishes.  Came home with a slightly sore throat.  😦

That said, we are already looking forward to our next beach break.. where shall we head to next?
