Print attack

Grateful for the short work week with a much-needed day off from work to catch up with dear friends and to refresh the haircut.  Nothing fancy, just went a little shorter.  Just wished that it need not take so long for the cut-and-colour bit.  I really don’t fancy sitting in the salon flipping magazines for over 2 hours.

And pimping my printed outfits with more accessory madness.  Loving my newly-acquired white and teal rhinestone necklace purchase from H&M.  Did I mention that its chic and good? :)

A new find

The bf@w showed off her new purchase along with a site that got me all excited!  Hopped on down to twenty eight lane, picked out a couple of items and am pleased as a pea when they arrived.

I wasn’t too sure about picking up the braclets at first but thought that the beaded one with the robot charm was really cute.  Figured that I could probably pile them on and layer with the many other bracelets chucked in the drawer.  No regrets for getting the beaded bracelets for they are perfect for layering.  Plus I totally dig the colours, matches most of the other stuff that I have and love.  :)

So who’s in need of a little retail therapy now?

Where I shop for accessories..

I’ve got a huge weakness for accessories fueled by this season’s multi-layering of different accessories either on the neck or on the arm.  So I went on a quest to acquire these accessories starting first with H&M and Forever 21.  These places stock up the latest trends almost straight off the catwalk at prices that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

I also love shopping for accessories at Platinum Mall in Bangkok.  Initially I was a little reserved adding just 1 or 2 items into my shopping basket.  After calculating how much these items may cost me back home, I went a little crazee adding more stuff in but I was super pleased with my overall haul. :)

Of late I haven’t had much time to head out to the shops.  Basically all I want to do everyday after the work?  Honestly, is to go home! And what do I do when I’m home and somewhat rest and relaxed?  I surf and end up shopping online. ;p

Here’s what I added to the accessory wardrobe:

Curated Editions is a new favourite of mine!  I love that this online store has items that will suit most budgets with pieces that will see you from day to night.

Want to know the beauty plus the brains behind Curated Editions?  Read all about it over Lavishley ! Psst… there’s a special shopping offer to get you started on your love affair with the pieces over at Curated Editions .  So… what are you waiting for? ;)

And another online retail store that I’ve taken quite a fancy with is A Flight of Fancy.  Sue (a 3rd year uni student) dropped me an email sharing more details on her new start-up.  It didn’t take me very long to check out her offerings on Facebook with 2 new buys under my belt.  The ivory necklace with diamantes and spikes (featured above) is a new-found accessory for my outfits these days.  A Flight of Fancy currently only takes pre-orders for now so don’t wait too long before placing your order for you may just regret it.  ;p

Guess that’s all I have to share for now.  Oh wait!  I do have 1 more online store to share but will have to wait for the goodies to arrive before I can reveal.

Till then, if you do know of other online jewellery stores that I can go check out.  Do share.  :)

Another year

Today I add another candle on the birthday cake. I celebrate with joy in a foreign land with the Man and friends who made a special trip here. I’m happy but I also can’t help but feel a little homesick; missing my little fur-kid and other dear ones terribly. Then there’s sinking feeling of a pile load of work waiting for my return when I head back to office Monday morning.

But since I’m in one of my fave cities celebrating my special day, I guess no better time to indulge and go on all out to treat myself a little with this all-time fave mantra of mine! >_<

Embellishing the neckline.

I’m all for accessorising!  Outfits are a little more fun when you add a little necklace, brooch, bracelet or if you are really brave, all of the above to dress it up a little more.

So basically, that’s what I did last week – piling on the accessories to dress up the outfits.  ;)

Monday: A simple black dress with my fave accessory-of-the-moment – spike necklace with white diamante.
Tuesday:  A printed banana top with my Marni for H&M Peter Pan sequined collar.
Wednesday: Keeping it simple my Matthew Willamson for H&M dress with an intricate and dressy Phoenix sewing.
Thursday: My 99baht ‘Be Spectacled’ printed top from Bangkok dressed with my neon pop rhinestone necklace and layered with another gold spike necklace with black diamante.
Friday: Going electric with this cobalt blue top and candied spike necklaces in turquoise, pink and white colour combi.

Pumped up kicks

Yes, I’m fallen head-over-heels with spikes and studs this season.  Pretty hard actually.  I’ve seen those spiked shoes by Louboutins but gosh, they cost so much!  So, I was over-the-moon when I was surfing Zara’s offerings and saw their latest collection of shoes.  Best part?  A fraction of what a pair of Loubies might cost.

Since my footwear needed a little updating.  I decided to indulge a little and picked up a pair of heels plus a pair of flats.  Can’t wait to pair them with my outfits!  But I’m also  a little worried that I might actually hurt myself when wearing them, for you see, I can be quite the klutz at times.

Besides the 2 pairs that I had purchased, here are 2 others that I also have my eye on.

Looks like I will be popping into Zara pretty often this season to check what they have on their shelves.  But hey, if you do happen to be in Zara and spot the above items, do give me a shout-out.

A week of accessorising..

Fresh picks from my little weekend get-away thrown in with a couple of old fave pieces.  Here’s what I paired them with for a seemingly-short-but-felt-like-it-was-a-long week. Tuesday: Electric blue shirt dress with a turquoise blue necklace.
Wednesday:  My dramatic Leopard rhinestone necklace with a leopard ‘preens’ top.

Thursday:  Piling on the neon bling necklaces with a diamante spike necklace.  But boy are these heavy!  The shoulders felt a little tight after wearing them.  Hmph..
Friday:  One of my fave buys from the Bangkok trip, a short dress with floral and skull digital prints.  Love the ‘now you see it, now you don’t’ type of effect.  Didn’t want to take the attention away from the dress, so I simply piled on the armswag.

There you have it.  Accessories do make all the difference and they appear to be all the rage this season.  Don’t be afraid to clash colours or pile on as many as you want.  You’ll definitely fit right in with these statement pieces.
