Day 2.

Decided to get up at 7am plus after B kinda woke me up when he went for his morning run.

The panic is sinking in so I frantically grabbed my stuff to pack. Tried searching for some of my other stuff but somehow when you need those things, it always seem to just disappear in thin air. Darn!

20110419-034717.jpgAt 8 plus, I emerged from the bedroom and brought Sparky for his morning walk. The Man has been bringing the fur-kid for his walks and I thought since I have the week off, I better cherish the time I spend with the little furball. Yes, having a dog is like having a child, similar responsibilities except that the dog will not be able to talk and he will always retain his childlike mentalities no matter how old he grows.

Thereafter, headed out to get my International Driving License before meeting my ex-colleagues for lunch at Linda’s Home Kitchen.  The incessant chatter filled the air the moment the five of us got together to update on our lives and ‘gossip’ about the previous workplace.  Since most of them have been to Geneva, I asked them what exactly there is to do there.  They just smiled and told me to enjoy my time there.  They said I could go cycling around Lake Geneva.  Kinda tough seeing that I just learnt cycling last year.  Yeah, at a ripe ol’ age of 30+, I just learnt cycling last year and I’ve not been on a bicycle since.  I don’t think I can manage cycling around Lake Geneva with my poor handling skills.

It’s time to pamper myself!  And since I was in the area, I thought I head back to my trusty nail salon to get a much-needed manicure and pedicure.  I think I will miss having pretty nails for a while for it would be subjected to loads of house-chores (read: washing/ cleaning/ scrubbing) in Geneva.  I better enjoy it while it lasts.

Time for some girlie chit-chat over martinis with Fashionista Cat at Morton’s!!!  They are simply THE BEST IN TOWN!  Best part?  The free steak sandwiches from Morton’s!  What’s not to like?  So, we parked ourselves there from 5 – 8pm with four martinis each.  I will miss the girlie as she is contemplating on moving back to Singapore while I’m making my way out.  But we figured we ‘survived’ 3 over years of long-distance relationship, we should be able to ‘survive’ this.  What is 1 year?

Finally, rounding up the night with a late dinner with Del at ‘no menu’ restaurant!  I’ve been wanting to try out this place after seeing some Facebook pics from friends on this place plus Notabilia raved about this place too so expectations were pretty high.  I must add that food at ‘no menu’ met the expectations for both Del and me.  Over a half bottle of Chianti, the babe and I shared a lovely conversation.

So, that pretty much sums up my day – a meaningful one shared catching up with friends.  I’m sure I will miss them but it’s just a year and there’s email / Skype and ‘What’s app’ that we could rely on in the meantime.
