What I wore to work in snapshots..

Monday: Decked in this MBMJ dress which I purchased online. Didn’t fit, had it altered and somehow the dress didn’t look kinda great anymore. Sigh..

Tuesday: A lace peplum chiffon blouse from Warehouse paried with simple navy pants.

Wednesday: Looks like no one is interested to dress-up, so ditched the theme and went for a doodle-printed shirt dress. Dress is actually good in disguising the bulge for ‘I feel fat’ days.

Thursday: Crazy night out with the friends. Took out my Marni for H&M dress for a spin.

Friday: Deliberately left the outfit for this day out cos I rushed out of the house in a pair of jeans and the Co tee-shirt.

Hope your week has been fine and dandy! We’re off to Bangkok for the long weekend!!! :) Updates on Bangkok to come soon.

Enjoy the looooong weekend then!

What I wore to work in snap-shots

Thanks everyone who gave a shout-out to my ‘What I wore to work’ outfit posts!  Really glad that you are enjoying it!  :)

So, step right in and check out my work outfits for the week:

Monday:  Mondays are always the hardest IMO.  Instead of putting on yet another black/blue outfit, I decided the colour tone for the day was going to be GREY.  Hehe…  I paired this grey geometric tunic with a bejewelled necklace.  Who says you can’t mix gold and silver together?  I thought the colour combi for this pairing worked.  What do you think?

Tuesday:  An electric blue chiffon dress with a Marni tribal necklace.  I love accessories from Marni.  I usually buy them during sales as I feel that they are worth the investment for they really do dress up the outfit.

Wednesday:  Theme for the week – Let’s go to the Olympics.  Funnily, I had this dress adorned with gymnast prints for the longest time.  I probably bought it during the last Olympics (think 2008), wore it once and then stuck it in the wardrobe.  I would occasionally wonder when I will bring it out, so the theme for this week’s department dress-up challenge was perfect!  Unfortunately, everyone was buried knee-deep in a major work thing that no one bothered to dress up.  So, I guess it was a walk-over for me, except that no one really noticed what I wore.  Haha.. I guess, better luck next time for me then. :/

Thursday:  Big day at work!  Usually, I would put on a black shift dress or a black work jacket.  Well, this time round, I thought I would put on a dark green silk top with pants.  Jazzed up the outfit with my H&M for Marni white floral acrylic necklace.  The necklace was indeed eye-catching for I received some compliments from the colleagues.  :)

Friday:  Finally!!!  Ushering the weekend with this orangey-red dress from DKNY Jeans which I got on sale.  Don’t you love scoring stuff on sale?  I most certainly do!  Was going for a clean look, so kept it simple by just piling on the arm swag.

And just like that, the work week is over and another one beckons.   Anyone up for putting me through a fashion challenge for the coming week?  I’m game if the fashion requests made are pretty reasonable (ie: printed outfits / tops-and-pants ensemble/ different accessories/ colour scheme, etc – you get the hint).  Just leave a comment or email me and we’ll take it from there.  ;)

Let’s see if you can pull me out of my fashion rut…

‘Power dressing’ to work

Just a collection of my outfits to work this week:

Ramping up Tuesday with a lace top paired with my fave neon pink necklace! //  Theme for this Wednesday’s dress-up to work was Midsummer.  So I wore my floaty chiffon swallow printed dress.. didn’t win though..

Thursday felt like a spotty day for me and I simply piled on the armswag //  And Friday?  A floral dress put on for dinner with pals at Gardens by the Bay.  :)

Happy Sunday y’all and here’s wishing you a great week filled with fashion inspirations!  I know I definitely need it for the theme of next Wednesday’s WOW challenge is Arabian Nights and I really have no clue what to wear.  Yikes!!!

Take a {little} bow..

Saw this on S’s bag recently and fell in love with the little bow, so asked another friend on the guide on how to recreate this and ta-dah – tied a little bow on Miss B!  How pretty she looks now!  :)

My solution for a bad hair day

Yup, I’m having my fair share of bad hair days here in Geneva.  So for a quick fix that I’ve been wanting to try for the longest time, I pulled out my twilly and used it as a head-scarf.  Kind of a fun look for a casual afternoon out about town.

Things are generally more expensive in Geneva.  A trim at a no-frills salon could easily set you back about CHF 90 (SG 120).  I haven’t quite had the guts to head to a salon yet to have my hair trimmed after hearing horror stories from friends who had not so-a-pleasant experience with the hair-dresser plus not being able to speak any ounce of French which has become a disadvantage in my case.  But I couldn’t resist an offer on Buy Club Geneva for a pampering hair styling package (valued at CHF 189) for CHF 69, I decided to take my chances.  Don’t expect drastic changes to the hairstyle, probably just a cut on the fringe.  :)

Can’t wait to head back to Singapore to get a proper cut, I’ve been missing my bob-do for a while now.

What are your plans for the weekend?  Well, we have made foodie plans for the weekend and I’m trying my darnest not to fall sick so as to enjoy the food.  Wish me luck and Bon Weekend to you all!

Going wide

There was a time when wide-leg jeans were all the rage.  It was then when I jumped on the bandwagon some 5 years back and purchased this pair of jeans from Uniqlo when we were still living in Tokyo.  I love Uniqlo for they have a wide range of casual wear with those irresistible pocket-friendly prices.

I brought along my one and only pair of wide leg jeans to Geneva.  Wasn’t sure what I was going to pair it with but since my wardrobe choices are rather limited since I’m not working here (they mainly comprise jeans, jeans and more jeans).  I thought maybe a different style could come in handy some how.  And I guess it did this time round.

I had a ‘gig’ presenting on Singapore to a couple who was going to relocate to our tiny shores.  I wasn’t sure what to wear, shipped all my pants home the last time so I pulled out my wide-leg jeans.  I probably could get away with wearing jeans since it was of a dark wash.  To pull off a slightly more ‘business-casual’ look, I put on a navy blue blouse with just some simple detailing.  You can’t really see it here but I love the ‘Peter Pan’ collar on this blouse.  Lastly, because the blouse is made of a lightweight cotton material, I layered it with a grey cardi to keep warm.

And the ankle boots go perfectly well with the outfit too.  Guess I’m keeping this pair of wide-leg jeans in my wardrobe for a little longer.  Hopefully this seventies-style denim will make a comeback soon.

Go on raid my wardrobe!
