Checking out Gardens by the Bay

With almost everyone that we knew flocking down to visit the newly opened Gardens by the Bay, we knew it was but a matter of time that we head on down to check out the Gardens too.  But I guess, we had a different agenda for wanting to make a trip down to the Gardens thanks to a dinner reservation scored at Pollen!  I’ll whet your appetite a little for the blog-post on Pollen will come later.

First, let me leave you with some pictures that I managed to snap en-route to Pollen:

I’m going to make a trip up there on our next visit!

A brief walk inside the Flower Dome

Well, I do hope we go back soon to check out the rest of the attractions at Gardens by the Bay.

Have you been to the Gardens by the Bay recently?  If yes, what other sights should I be looking out for?  Do lemme know… TIA :)

Where the wild flowers at..

Couldn’t resist stopping by Far East Flora after sending the fur-kid for his vet appointment.  Poor kiddo got hit with a case of infection so he’s on a course of antibiotics and we are off to see the vet two weeks later for a review.  But since we are in the vicinity, it was off for a quick spot of floral shopping for me.

Picked these florals up and popped them in these vases to brighten up the room:

A small bouquet of Blushing Bride flowers popped in a jam jar (tip: recycle and reuse jam jars as vases for the home ;) ).

I love hydrageas but their beauty is so short-lived given the warm climate that we live in.  Since these Pink and Cream Hydrageas were going on an irresistible offer, I felt like I had to bring them home. So glad I did, looking at these flowers in the room makes me oh-so-happy already! ;)

What about you?  Do you have a fave flower or flowers that just lifts your spirits up?  As for me?  Not very difficult to fathom a guess for you should know most flowers seem to cast a happy spell on me.  ;)

Blooming this week..

I liked what I learnt this week – the Inverted T floral arrangement.  Didn’t look like much initially but after adding in the leaves and stems, I thought it looked pretty good!  What do you think?  ;)

At the loft…

This week, I learnt the Asymetrical design in my floral arrangement course.  Loving the choice of colours but not so loving the floral layout.  Not so sure if I want to replicate this layout again but it’s a good to know.  :)

Flowers in the loft

Dressing up the loft with a cheery hue of yellow florals and just looking at this arrangement set atop on our coffee table ups my happiness quotient by a notch. :)

floral blooms in Geneva.

Oh-kay, not exactly a continuation of my weekly ‘Florals in the loft’ series.  But inspired by a recent blog-post by {Girl on the ave}, I decided to head out today, make full use of the sunshine and document some of the pretty blossoms that I’ve seen springing up in Geneva.
