What I wore to work in snap-shots

Thanks everyone who gave a shout-out to my ‘What I wore to work’ outfit posts!  Really glad that you are enjoying it!  :)

So, step right in and check out my work outfits for the week:

Monday:  Mondays are always the hardest IMO.  Instead of putting on yet another black/blue outfit, I decided the colour tone for the day was going to be GREY.  Hehe…  I paired this grey geometric tunic with a bejewelled necklace.  Who says you can’t mix gold and silver together?  I thought the colour combi for this pairing worked.  What do you think?

Tuesday:  An electric blue chiffon dress with a Marni tribal necklace.  I love accessories from Marni.  I usually buy them during sales as I feel that they are worth the investment for they really do dress up the outfit.

Wednesday:  Theme for the week – Let’s go to the Olympics.  Funnily, I had this dress adorned with gymnast prints for the longest time.  I probably bought it during the last Olympics (think 2008), wore it once and then stuck it in the wardrobe.  I would occasionally wonder when I will bring it out, so the theme for this week’s department dress-up challenge was perfect!  Unfortunately, everyone was buried knee-deep in a major work thing that no one bothered to dress up.  So, I guess it was a walk-over for me, except that no one really noticed what I wore.  Haha.. I guess, better luck next time for me then. :/

Thursday:  Big day at work!  Usually, I would put on a black shift dress or a black work jacket.  Well, this time round, I thought I would put on a dark green silk top with pants.  Jazzed up the outfit with my H&M for Marni white floral acrylic necklace.  The necklace was indeed eye-catching for I received some compliments from the colleagues.  :)

Friday:  Finally!!!  Ushering the weekend with this orangey-red dress from DKNY Jeans which I got on sale.  Don’t you love scoring stuff on sale?  I most certainly do!  Was going for a clean look, so kept it simple by just piling on the arm swag.

And just like that, the work week is over and another one beckons.   Anyone up for putting me through a fashion challenge for the coming week?  I’m game if the fashion requests made are pretty reasonable (ie: printed outfits / tops-and-pants ensemble/ different accessories/ colour scheme, etc – you get the hint).  Just leave a comment or email me and we’ll take it from there.  ;)

Let’s see if you can pull me out of my fashion rut…

It’s all about the prints!

This season, prints are all the rage! From paisley to stripes, florals to lace.  Basically, anything goes as long as you look gorgeous.  For me, the print that I’m falling hard and head-over-heels with is birds.  It’s just a fun and whimsical print that makes me feel happy just by wearing the dress.

I picked this dress up from Warehouse on our last trip to London.  I saw it in a magazine and desperately wanted to get my hands on it, thankfully, the store still had a couple of pieces left.  At first I wasn’t too sure about the length and the pleats but the 25% discount off the normal price kinda sealed the deal for me.  Brought it home, styled the dress with another belt and I thought it worked pretty ok.  So I decided to pack the dress to New York and it made it’s debut in the park styled along with my trusty mouse-grey leather jacket and these navy blue booties.

What do you think?  Haven’t had a chance to wear this out in Singers yet.  Still wondering what sort of foot-wear the dress should be paired with for the length of the dress is slightly longer than knee-length.  Any ideas?
