Capture the Everyday: Something you collect

Capture the Everyday is about getting you to capture those everyday moments in your life! Each Tuesday, Mel from Adventuroo will issue a simple challenge to capture something that’s a part of your daily life. It’s a quick, easy way to start capturing those little parts of life we sometimes take for granted.

This week’s assignment: Something you collect

I could think of loads of stuff that I like collecting – bags/ shoes/ toiletries and the list can go on.  I think I’m largely a hoarder for I like collecting and keeping them.  Well, ain’t the best trait to have… so from time to time, I enjoy decluttering the stuff out of my life.

But for now, here are some of the things I collect:

Accessories – I love how they jazz up a simple outfit and either dress it up or add a burst of fun to it.  These are my au-current fave accessories.

Quirky prints!  Here are some of the prints that I purchased from Etsy, I love how they transform my plain dressing table into a fun one.

Wanna share something that you collect?  Hop on over to Adventuroo to participate in this week’s challenge then.

Capture the Everyday: My stash

This week’s assignment: My stash

I’ve been known to purchase some really strange stuff when I travel.  But the one consistent item that I like to purchase on most of my overseas trips is tissue paper.  I have a secret stash of tissue paper in girlie patterns and some even in different scents such as camomile and lavender.  So presenting my stash of precious tissue paper that I’ve hauled back from my different travels, oh I need to add that some of these are gifted from friends.  Yes, we belong to a circle affectionately known as the tissue paper gang.

Want to share a pic of the stash that you’ve been keeping? Hop on over to Adventuroo to take part in this week’s challenge.

This week’s assignment: A laugh

I was wondering which picture I should be putting up for this week’s challenge then I remembered this picture that I so loved.  A simple black-and-white picture of the both of us probably laughing at a silly joke.  The photographer was supposed to captured us in smiles but instead had accidentally captured this shot of us laughing instead.  It was one of the best pictures that we had out of our entire album and one that I will always cherish to this date despite it not being the best of quality.

I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.

This week’s assignment: Everyday colour

One of the indulgences that I simply must have back in Singapore is my manicure and pedicure.  I love having a fresh coat of nail polish on my nails on a weekly basis.  I know it probably weaken my nails but I simply enjoy having pretty nails.  ;)

So here are the nail colours that I’m currently wearing:

I can be pretty adventurous when it comes to nail colours.. but fall-back safe colours for me are usually the reds and the pinks.

Got an everyday colour to share?  Just hop on over to Adventuroo to participate in this week’s assignment.

Capture the Everyday: What’s in your fridge?

Capture the Everyday is about getting you to capture those everyday moments in your life! Each Thursday, Mel from Adventuroo will issue a simple challenge to capture something that’s a part of your daily life. It’s a quick, easy way to start capturing those little parts of life we sometimes take for granted.

This week’s assignment: What’s in your fridge?

After a 1-week break, Mel from Adventuroo is back!!!  This week’s assignment to showcase what’s in our fridge.  Mel in one of her tweets jokingly asked if her ‘Capture the Everyday’ homegirls are worried about showing off what’s in our fridge.  To that, I replied, Nah!.  Having just returned to Geneva, I had wanted to stock up on groceries.  BUT.. today is a public holiday in Geneva, so all shops are closed!

So presenting our bare fridge for all to see:

There’s just the 2 of us living here in Geneva, so our fridge is very minimally stocked. What we have loads of?  Dried goods and sauces that we have shipped over from Singapore to be used in our daily cooking.  These Asian ingredients are kind of hard to procure here in Geneva and even if we could get them, they are often more expensive than what we would normally pay back at home.

Looks like I definitely need to hit the supermarket tomorrow to stock up on more items.

Capture the Everyday: Feet

It’s a quick, easy way to start capturing those little parts of life we sometimes take for granted.

This week’s assignment: Feet

Funnily, this week’s assignment was a pretty easy one to do.  I dug into my photo archives and for some strange reason, I’ve many photos of feet that I’ve taken over the years.  Usually, the exposed feet photos are taken on a beach vacation with me and the Man all relaxed and lazing around.

This was taken during our vacation last August where we just chilled by the beach and watched the sun setting into the azure blue sea.  Sigh!  Brings back memories.. I so want a beach holiday!

You can show off your feet too!  Just hop on over to Adventuroo to participate in this week’s assignment.

Capture the Everyday: A Pretty Landscape

Capture the Everyday is about getting you to capture those everyday moments in your life! Each Thursday, Mel from Adventuroo will issue a simple challenge to capture something that’s a part of your daily life. It’s a quick, easy way to start capturing those little parts of life we sometimes take for granted.

This week’s assignment: A pretty landscape

I thought that this week’s theme was pretty exciting. As I looked through my archives for a pretty landscape, I realised that it’s kinda tough to narrow it down to just that one pic. So, I’m going to ‘cheat’ and showcase just some of the pretty landscapes that I’ve managed to capture.

The Man took this in May 2009 when we were in Burgundy as our vehicle moved passed the rolling sunflower fields. Loved how the gloomy grey skies starkly juxtaposed against the backdrop of bright yellows and greens.

The glorious Eiffel Tower in Paris taken in June 2009. It was pretty much a gloomy day and this picture captured just the mixed emotions that I had of Paris then.

Japan will always hold a special place in our hearts for we spent one of the most happiest moments there in 2007. I’ll forever hold close the wonderful memories of the Cherry Blossom season where we got to enjoy the beautiful viewing of Sakura flowers.

Do you have a pretty landscape with a cherished memory to share? If yes, then hop on over to Adventuroo to participate in this week’s assignment.
