Wasn’t too sure about wanting to catch the movie, didn’t think it was the Man’s cuppa tea. But I have the Company to thank for as I did manage to catch this move before it finished its screening. Shout-out to the gf@w who picked this movie and managed the logistics for the event.
Why didn’t I want to catch it? Well, the usual theater to big-screen adaptation. It’s either a hit or a miss. I didn’t like the movie version of Mama Mia one bit. Reviews that I’ve read or come across are mixed. You either love it or hate it. So there wasn’t exactly a push-factor for me to rush to get the tickets.
I went with an open mind for its been ages since I caught Les Mis and I couldn’t quite recall the storyline. But as the scenes unfold and familiar tunes were belted out by the actors, flashbacks of the musical started to return. Be warned, the movie was pretty long but kinda helped that some of the cast members were serious eye-candy. I couldn’t keep my eyes off Marius played by Eddie Redmayne! Hehe… That said, I thought the movie stuck close to the musical’s plot and yes, a couple of tears were shed along the way as well.
Have you caught Les Misérables? What did you think of it? Yay or Nay?
Not yet, but planning on it…soon!
Go go…
It’s a yay and can I just say Hugh Jackman is simply awesome? Bring your drool pot. Oh yes and Russell can’t Crowe.
Babe.. you are too farni! Burst out laughing.. that’s a good one you came up with!
And yeah, droolworthy guys galore in the movie. Hehe
I was tremendously moved by Hugh Jackman’s performance and think he deserves an Oscar. Yeah the whole movie was a bit too long though especially at the end.
Yeah me too. Shed some tears.. I think he deserves an Oscar for this too!
