Breaking point

Ask the Man and he will probably tell you one of my bad habits is not finishing what I have started.  Yup, guilty as charged.  :(   I think I probably have the attention span of a 3 year old – fixated on one toy for the first 3 minutes and then moving along to another toy.   Sigh.. I guess my only saving grace is having self-awareness and trying to overcome this bad habit.

You might be wondering where all this is leading.  Well, I think I’ve come full circle.  It’s finally time for me to go get my Golf Proficiency Certificate (PC) for golf.  Deadline that the Man has set for me to achieve this goal?  3 months.

I must have first started learning golf in my early 20s.  Remembered taking lessons over at Orchid Country Club.  I’ve never been athletic so I couldn’t get used to all that swinging.  Coupled with lower back and minor slip disc problem, the doc’s advice was to stay away from golf for a while.  So golf was put on the back burner.

Then, when I started working with The Company, I decided to take up golf again (some 4 years back I think) because the Rec Club gave a pretty good deal for the lessons and part of the fees were subsidised.  But I never got round to completing it.  Think the flying schedule interfered with the lessons and the coach wasn’t in favour of make-up lessons.  Arh well.

Finally, my most recent attempt with learning how to play golf was about 1.5 years ago.  The bf@work was game to learn the sport and we decided to take private lessons.  But again, the coach changed locations for the teaching venue (think from the East to the other side of Singers).  I got lost so often trying to get to lessons that we just gave up completely.  Bf@work wasn’t exactly motivated as well.  So, ta-dah… 4 times attempting to get my PC but it never did succeed due to laziness on my part.

This time round, the Man decided to be my personal coach and his quest to ensure that I get my certification.  He’s put me on a regime – range once a week followed by a 9-hole golf game at the course, every other week.  In 3 months, I’m supposed to be put to the test by the examiners at the Club.  Hopefully, I will get the necessary golf certification by then.  *Fingers and toes crossed!  And wish me luck!*

You look adorable in your outfit. Wishing you all the luck and I know you’ll do great – big hugs :) I used to play around at just the golf range a long time ago. Just hitting the balls was fun (but I have like zero technique).

Thanks BJ.. the Man got me one of the outfits! Thought it would motivate to try harder at the game. I really hope I get my PC this time. I can’t give up know. I also have zero technique.. totally not athletic and have zero sense of direction so it’s harder to excel in the game. Haha

don’t like the sun very much (and it gets so scorching here). Guess I would play if I were in another country (Australia?) where it’s really cold and much cheaper :)
