Review: Hada Labo

When I met up with S the last time, she raved about a couple of over-the-counter brands that seemed to work for her plus this brand; ‘Hada Labo’, that she’s been wanting to try.  After my not so successful attempt with Bio-essence products, I was itching to try out another product and hopefully score a beauty find that won’t bust the bank.

So after doing some online research on Hada Labo, I took the plunge and went home with these products – the Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Facial Wash, the Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Milk and the travel-sized pack for weekend getaways.  They aren’t very expensive, total cost for the above was probably S$50.

A little about Hada Labo; the philosophy behind this Japanese cult brand is ‘PERFECT X SIMPLE’.  Hada Labo place emphasis on simplicity in its skincare process, so all unnecessary additives, colorant, fragrance and mineral oil is removed, leaving only the pure and effective ingredients that are beneficial to your skin.

I liked what I read but can it really deliver what it promised?

For me, it’s a resounding YES.  The Facial Wash was gentle but yet did the job of cleansing my skin.  The harsh tingling sensation that some cleansers had on my skin was missing when I used this facial wash.  Instead, my skin was comfortably hydrated and refreshed.  This product is for keeps!

What about the Hydrating Milk?  As my skin tends to be on the oily side, I decided to use the Hydrating Milk instead of using the Cream as part of my night-time beauty regime.  The texture of the hydrating milk was light and watery.  After a couple of pats of the hydrating milk onto my cleansed skin, it went through to my skin and was absorbed.  Yup, it’s that quick.  Best part?  No sticky and icky feeling that some night creams leave on my skin.  Skin felt a little smoother and felt hydrated as I slept through the night.

I guess I’m enjoying a higher success rate with these products from Hada Labo.  The facial wash and the hydrating milk are star finds for me and I foresee repeat purchases of these products.  Another product that I’m going to try from Hada Labo?  The Super Hyaluronic Hydrating Lotion!  Reviews have been stellar and with one sold every 4 seconds in Japan, I guess it must be superb!

Have you tried any products from Hada Labo? What are some of your must-buys?

The Super Hyaluronic Hydrating Lotion has been part of my daily routine for about 2 years plus! I first tried SKII’s miracle water but it gives me outbreak. My friend asked me to use both SKII and Hada labo on alternate days but I give up on SKII in the end! Love their hydrating lotion! I have oily skin too but this suits me perfectly! It hydrates my skin yet does not makes my skin oily and it absorbs easily!
