Hey, no thinking ‘dirty’ here okay! I’m talking about ‘my lovebites’ – a cookie bakery opened around my ‘hood. 
Located within a stretch of shops along Joo Chiat is where you will find my lovebites. Step inside and let whatever diet you intended on keeping go down the drain with the variety of unique cookies available at this niche cookie atelier. The only other cookie place where I will even think about forsaking my diet would be at the Cookie Museum.
Fresh from my weekly lunch with the parentals, I wasn’t wildly hungry nor wanting to taste all the different cookies available in the store unlike the customers ahead of me who happily helped themselves to everything. Must add the service was pretty attentive, from the moment I stepped in, the sales assistant though tied up with another customer welcomed me, told me to wait for a moment before calling her colleague to help me with the sampling.
They are pretty generous with the cookie sampling as well. I could basically try out all the available flavours but since I pretty much knew what flavours to get, I sampled the tangy lime just to make sure that it wasn’t too sweet for a friend and then the salted butter caramel for the home since I’ve always been a fan of salted caramel. We had a house party to go to next weekend so picked out a couple of the cookies for the kiddos as well.
Happy with my haul, I headed for my Powerplates class bent on working hard for the session and loosing the couple of calories from the bite-sized cookies that I sampled earlier that hour. Hehe..
With no added preservatives and everything made from scratch, the cookies from my lovebites really pack the punch. It truly was love at first bite! Pretty pleased with my picks of Tangy Lime that’s a crisp wafer-thin cookie filled with an intense kaffir lime flavour and the Salted Caramel Butter cookie that reminded me of a jam cookie except that it’s a butter one filled with salted caramel.
Looks like tea-time at the loft is going to be a lot more fun with these yummy cookies. Gotta pace myself so that I won’t end up gorging on the cookies at a go. Hehe…
So is it worth a visit down to my ‘hood for these bites? I say yes! Stock up on cookies for I think they make great gifts for friends and dear ones.
