New York Food Rave #2: Shake Shack

I feel like I couldn’t leave my trip without having a burger from the legendary Shake Shack burger joint.  Thankfully, my like-minded sis felt the same way too!  So upon their arrival to the City, we decided to go in search of the famed ‘road-side’ burger and made our way to their very first joint which was opened at Madison Park in 2004.

Okay, the diet completely went down the drain because I felt that the portions in the US were slightly larger than the ones back home.  Thankfully, I did quite a lot of walking in the city so I guess that elevated my guilt by a little.  The queue for the burger wasn’t that long compared to the one that I saw at the Broadway store.  Perhaps it was the time that we went, at about 4-ish in the noon, the burger sufficed as a pre-dinner snack. I thought the menu was pretty cute, catering to the pooches.  Immediately missed the fur-kid when I saw this.

We went for the Shake Shack burger of the day.  Verdict?  Juicy and yummy burger.  Mmm.. the memory still lingers on.  Since it was a pre-dinner snack, we decided to be ‘good’, so the 3 of us shared 1 burger instead of having one each.  Hehe.. talk about cost-savings.  ;)

My sis is so gonna kill me for posting this pic but I loved her ‘OMG I’m having the Shake Shack burger!’ expression.  Hehe..

I also loved that as we were stuffing our face silly with the not-so-huge burger, we were also able to take in all the natural beauty all around Madison Square Park.

Couldn’t resist taking a pic with the Flatiron Building as a backdrop.  I’ve only seen the Flatiron Building in the movies and pictures so imagine my delight in finding this prominent New York City landmark.

Yeah, I thought Shake Shack was better than In-N-Out burger. And my mom was a little cold as we sat in the garden eating the burger too. Wanted a hot tea but they didn’t sell any. Thankfully it was a small burger so we bundled up and walked to generate heat thereafter. :)
