the chanel cupcakes.

It was supposed to be a simple farewell party over some drinks and chicken wings at a pub near the office.  I didn’t expect a grand send-off, I thought maybe a funny card for I heard alot of sniggering at their desks.  I was really surprised when they dished out this box of cupcakes that were Chanel themed!

The reason behind these cupcakes?  They knew that I’ve been wanting a birthday cake in the shape of a Chanel bag.  Everytime a colleague goes in search of a figurine birthday cake for their child, I would rave about wanting a cake shaped in a Chanel bag.  They probably felt sorry for me because the first few days at work when I joined the team 3.5 years back, I made the mistake of sharing that I actually organised my own birthday party and ordered my own cakes.  They giggled at my state secretly feeling sorry for me.  So, they decided to fulfill my wish and give me these cupcakes with Chanel toppings as a send-off gift.

And, what a lovely gift it was!  It was the center of attraction, we whipped our phones and started taking photos of these gorgeous cupcakes that were simply too pretty to be eaten!

I’m a happy camper!  That’s not all, the team got me a digital photo frame (another item that I had wanted but never quite gotten round in getting one) and loaded it up with picture memories.  Towards the end of the photo presentation, each of them held up an A3 sheet with a personal greeting with their well-wishes.  Emotions got the better of me during the presentation and I started crying.  I hadn’t known why but I was really touched by their gesture and more for the friendship and camaraderie that we’ve shared over the years.  I will certainly miss my team-mates. ;(

Your colleagues are so sweet and I bet you are too :)

Wish I had someone like you at work. At least in my last place. At my old work places (still nostalgic about) I only had sweethearts.

Thanks bookjunkie.. yea, my colleagues are really sweet and I think I’ve been blessed with really lovely colleagues who eventually became friends. I guess it’s inevitable seeing that we spend so much time at work.

Awwwww, that was so sweet of your colleagues! It’s really wonderful to work with lovely people, isn’t it? Did the cupcakes taste as good as they look? They’re GORGEOUS.

Yeah, it’s great to work with lovely people. I mean I won’t say that it’s been a smooth-sailing journey, there are times where we just wanna ‘kill’ one another. But at the end of the day, we somehow manage to sort out our differences, put the past behind and move on.

There were 2 flavours.. chocolate and lime. The feedback for chocolate was better than the lime. And I agree with you.. they are really PRETTY!!! BEST CUPCAKES I’VE EVER RECEIVED!!!♥

How lovely your send-off sounded, especially the part with the A3 memories by your colleagues. Sounds like a lovely work environment!
